CCA is a resource for students at Goldsmiths.

We work with course leaders to embed in-gallery learning into taught course modules, and to support students’ professional development. We also run projects to explore how different disciplines and narratives can intersect in the space of the gallery, as well as developing CCA as a meeting point for different communities of practice.

MFA CURATING EVENTS

Each year, Goldsmiths CCA collaborates with Goldsmiths MFA Curating on an open call to its students to curate an event a part of the public programme. The selected curatorial collective is given mentorship by the CCA staff, space, and budget to stage their event in parallel to the main exhibitions, drawing out themes and contexts. Previous curatorial projects include: Loud Bodies, As If, Unfolding, Performance: Freya Doodley, Behavioural Garments: A Cabaret, Spatial Listening, Melting Point and So, So, So: A Poetry Night.

CCA JUNIOR FELLOWSHIP

CCA runs a Junior Fellowship scheme in which a graduate from MFA Curating joins the team for a year-long placement, working across all exhibitions, the public programme, and engagement projects to gain experience of working in an arts institution.

EXHIBITION PRODUCTION TRAINING

Each year, Goldsmiths CCA offers Goldsmiths MFA Curating students a hands-on, practical workshop focusing on the installation and maintenance of exhibitions. Taking CCA’s current exhibition as its starting point, the session addresses material aspects of exhibition making – from art handling and condition reporting through to fabrication and audio-visual installation – as well as questions relating to ecology and accessibility.

CCA GALLERY ASSISTANTS

Our Gallery Assistants are recruited from Goldsmiths’ students and recent alumni. The position provides a paid professional development opportunity which can complement their studies.
