CCA residents Floor Five Collective is inviting you to join the Life Drawing workshop entitled, Sez’re’s Becoming, this Sunday, 10 April, curated in collaboration with artist Florent Venet (they/them).Florent Venet is a French artist and costume designer based in London. They studied Fine Art at Goldsmiths University, where they received the Warden Prize in 2021 for outstanding practice. Their unique style is the fruit of a fantasy infused upbringing, an unescapable queerness, and a love for untamed landscapes. The workshop is inspired by a mythical character named Sez’re that Venet has created. Sez’re is the flesh enchantress and the sap reader who tells the future through the still liquid of Tar’am’s sap. Sez’re is also the Goïga’s spiritual leader and the healer of illnesses the Goïga’s suffer from. Their role is to nourish hope and keep the tribe tightly together through healing, rituals and faith. The life drawing session will feature the artist modelling various elements of Sez’re’s costume. For the duration of the session, Florent will be taking off and putting on new elements of costume– performatively posing as a transformative ritual to becoming Sez’re.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their favourite drawing materials (dry media only). Some paper and charcoal will be on hand if needed.

The event is free to attend but booking is required due to the limited space. To book the ticket, please click below.
