TOUR: Nadine Droste on Sophie Podolski
Recording of a tour of Sophie Podolski’s exhibition with curator Nadine Droste, whose long-term research engages with Podolski’s visual and written work. During the tour she examines Podolski’s queer aesthetics, her position on the fluidity of the boundaries of the body and identity, and readings of the work from the context of today.
BIOGRAPHY
Nadine Droste studied at the HFBK University of Fine Arts Hamburg and graduated from the Curatorial Studies program at the Goethe University and the Städelschule Frankfurt with a thesis on critical institutions. She founded the experimental exhibition space VIS in Hamburg in 2018, was director of the Kunstverein Bielefeld from 2019 to 2023, and co-director of La Salle de bains in Lyon in 2024. Last year, she received a research grant to study body politics in context of the work of Sophie Podolski. Currently she is working in the cultural program of the Goethe-Institut Brussels.
