A hand holds a box covered in Papier-mâché scraps torn from newspapers and magazines.

Drop in and join Mark for a weekend of brick making. Smash through your screens with a light hearted object heavy with meaning. Using recycled paper, card, and some watered down PVA glue – make a seemingly simple form – and learn or rediscover papier-mâché!

Come by anytime throughout either day, take a break from the brilliant exhibitions and let yourself absorb everything you’ve seen as you become engrossed in the process.

Leave your creation to build a wall for the set of a performance or take away to smash through the screens! We’ll take yesterday’s bad news and create something beautiful.

Bring friends, family or come on your tod and meet new people. A brick can be made in a matter of minutes, or you can take your time and stick around for a while.

All welcome. All materials provided. In Mark’s experience the glue washes out, but bear in mind that this workshop might be messy when you’re choosing your outfit.

Mark creates work through various forms of storytelling, which include drawing, object making, collaborative comic books, music, costume and performance. Mark is currently working on a theatrical musical extravaganza, called Pigeon Heartbreak Rears Its Ugly Headache. Recent projects include the Cowpoke’s Chaps and the Broken Horse, The Horse Hospital, 2025 (Performance); White Rabbit Lies, Solid House, 2025; (group exhibition) Gosh, son…, This Summer Holy Daze and the Latest Facist Trends, 2025 (album); Vivacanti Mouse, Cafe Oto, 2024 (performance); Bosh and Pecks F*ck off to the Countryside, Gliderdome, 2024 (play).
