A table full of paints, paintbrushes and half finished paintings being completed by children's hands. The words "STAY AND PLAY" overlay the image in a bold, yellow font.

This summer at Goldsmiths CCA, parents, carers, and families are invited to strut their stuff on the runway and participate in a summer themed T-shirt making workshop, inspired by our recent exhibition Milly Thompson: My Body Temperature is Feeling Good.

Milly Thompson was part of the renowned artist group BANK and later established a solo practice as a prolific painter, sculptor, video artist and writer. The exhibition presented works from 2010 onwards, in which the artist questions and playfully interrogates luxury consumer culture and celebrates the middle-aged female body. Drawing on Milly Thompson’s scenes of sun-drenched summer holidays and melting sorbet throughout her body of work, this workshop serves as a great end-of-summer holiday activity for families.

In this Stay and Play, families will use materials such as colourful ribbons and trim, patterned fabrics, buttons, pens, fuzzy pom poms, and more to make their own T-shirts.

This event is free to attend , and refreshments will be provided. Although we recommend this activity for ages 4 and upwards, the session is open to all.
