If you’re a teacher or educator wondering how to talk about contemporary art with young learners, join Trish Scott, Engagement Curator at the CCA, Kerry Gibson, Head of Curriculum at Thomas Tallis Secondary School, Isabelle de Tscharner Vischer, Teacher of Art and Design, and Neil Walton, Subject Leader for PGCE Art & Design at Goldsmiths, for some suggestions.

At this session we will share some practical strategies for engaging young learners with contemporary art in the classroom. Trish will give an introduction to Goldsmiths CCA’s current exhibition, Testament, and suggestions for connected conversations and activities. Kerry and Isabelle will discuss how Thomas Tallis have approached this exhibition, and also share their curriculum work around threshold concepts. Neil will lead a conversation about new OFSTED requirements.

This event is the 5th in our termly series Embedding Contemporary Art in the Curriculum. The CPD series gives practical and theoretical examples of how to engage young learners with contemporary art. The series draws on the rich artistic programme at Goldsmiths CCA whilst being an opportunity to hear from educators, teachers and artists about current practice and classroom tips.

The event on the 14th March will take place online. Book via the ‘ticket’ link below.
