Amelia Donkor and June Reid (A & J Arts) are two Goldsmiths students with over 50 years of combined experience working in the arts. Amelia studies MA Gender Media & Culture and is an experienced actor, writer and facilitator.  June is an MA Cultural Studies student who has programmed and curated a wide range of cultural activities for local government and in a freelance capacity. Amelia and June present Music as the Key to Life; an investigation of Black Diasporic lives in Lewisham through sound and story.

Throughout the residency at the CCA, A & J will conduct interviews focusing on inter-generational conversations. The project will enfold recorded interviews with layers of connected music to provide an archival legacy of the lived experience of local elders. From December 2021, there will be monthly public sharings of the work, including elements of verbatim theatre, music and recorded interviews.
