Teachers Preview of Virginia Overton’s exhibition at the CCA
Join us for a preview of Virginia Overton’s new exhibition Animal Magnetism specifically for teachers and educators. Find out more about bringing a class to visit or connecting with work you’re doing in the classroom.
Virginia Overton is an American artist whose work comprises sculpture and installation, often using reclaimed materials and previous artworks, to explore processes of industry and repair. She primarily works with raw construction materials such as timber, metal, glass, water, sand, stone, plastic, piping and lighting, to fashion objects that are at once new and readymade. Dubbed a ‘serial re-user’, she often breaks these artworks down again at the end of an exhibition into their component parts, to be recycled and reassembled into future new artworks and installations.
