Eva Gold, Perv City Act 3, 2020.

Eva Gold, Perv City Act 3, 2020.

Act 3 of Eva Gold’s multi-platform parrhesiades project, Perv City. Perv City was an exhibition in three acts: It told the story of a TV news reporter and an anonymous man who begins to contact her online. As the relationship unfolds across the three platforms, power dynamics begin to shift, raising questions about agency, vulnerability and consent as well as desire in both the public and private domain. Act 1 could be viewed online at www.parrhesiades.com, and was updated every Tuesday at 6pm for the duration of the show; Act 2 is open by appointment at Parrhesiades until 7th March; Act 3 took place on Wednesday 26th February at CCA from 6:30-8:30pm.

Parrhesiades is a multi-platform project, established in 2019 by curator Lynton Talbot to work with artists for whom language, either written spoken or otherwise performed is an essential part of their practice. Together with the artist, parrhesiades develops a single new work that exists across multiple platforms. A distributed or exploded model for exhibition that incorporates a partner institution, a speculative book, an online space and part of the curators’ home in South East London which is open by appointment.
