Residents
Residents is the CCA’s engagement programme designed to broaden the voices, relationships, and lines of inquiry at the gallery.
Since autumn 2021, 27 community and student groups have taken up residence in the John Garcia Family Foundation Gallery (photographed). Each group has used the space on a regular schedule to host their activities and as an additional resource for their core work.
We initiated Residents to proactively increase community links and voices within the CCA, to share our resources, encourage conversation, and to examine potentials for collaboration and partnership with our immediate community.
The re-design of the gallery space has been led by APV (Access Power Visibility) in close consultation with the 2021-2022 cohort of Residents, with accessibility, hospitality, and creating a welcoming atmosphere as being the foremost concerns within its design.
