Paloma Proudfoot works with ceramic to make installations that investigate corporeality. To mark CCA’s 5th birthday, the artist has created a series of sculptures resembling drawing pins. These drawing pins feature in recent installations as pin-point markers of memory. They are simultaneously innocuous everyday objects, but scaled so that they become threatening, or weapon-like. Which absent body has forced these giant pins into the wall, and for what purpose?
The sculpture can be wall based, by inserting the metal pin into a pilot hole, or displayed as a freestanding object.
