Laila Majid & Louis Blue Newby’s edition for Goldsmiths CCA relates to their Contact series, derived entirely from found digital images. Decontextualised from the social media feeds where they were found, figures become resonant for the transformative and subversive quality of their content. Images in this series, as with this edition, can be read as deviant, tracing gender fluidity, non-normative sexual practices, and anthropomorphic transformation. Produced on the occasion of Laila Majid & Louis Blue Newby’s exhibition Inner Heat.
