TEACHERS’ CPD: EMBEDDING CONTEMPORARY ART IN THE CURRICULUM
Trish Scott, CCA’s Engagement Curator, and Neil Walton, subject leader for PGCE Art and Design at Goldsmiths discuss ways of engaging with and embedding contemporary art into the curriculum.
Using the diverse and exciting exhibition programme of Goldsmiths CCA as a resource, they introduce a framework of big ideas focused on making contemporary art more accessible for all.
The discussion looks at how contemporary art differs from modern or traditional approaches, with the aim of supporting teachers and educators to develop a language and context for discussing art with young learners.
This recording is from an online session that happened on the 26th November 2020, (which was then run again on the 14th December).
