Sewing Seeds Collective
Sewing Seeds Collective is formed by Tyreis Holder and Zethu Maseko. We aim to bring together community members, artists and cultural workers, drawing from the synonymities of the life form of plants, to engage in practices of repair, healing, collectivity and resistance using a holistic approach. We use the garden as a root in our collective- in its literal/metaphorical sense. As an extension of our practice’s, Sewing Seeds will facilitate monthly public workshops using gardening, spoken word/poetry, textiles and sound as tools to create relief from everyday life.
We intend to elevate and empower marginalised voices and members of the local community through facilitating safe spaces for cross discipline, cross cultural and cross generational engagement, skill sharing and network building.
